What is Mellow Space?

Mellow Space is a space where people from all walks of life can share their common love for creation and expression. The experience is made to be as interactive or independent as you wish, leaving the artist (that's you!) to set the tone for your experience. The Mellow Space sessions are specially crafted to foster experimentation and exploration within participants. Our cosy, secret little studio, tucked along a busy street is a perfect space where you can take a breather, and learn at your own pace with the medium and material of your choice. During your session at the Mellow Space, we hope that you can slow down for a bit, engage with your curious self and have fun.

What if I am unable to finish my art work during the session? Am I able to extend?

Yes! You can stay for as long as we are open, and have the option to extend by the hour by paying for our hourly rate ($10). E.g. If you bought Mellow Craze ($25) for 2.5 hours and wish to stay for 2 more hours, you can pay an additional $20 to do so.

Do I need to bring my own art materials?

No, but you can if you want! Just to note, no oil paints please. All mediums (acrylic, watercolour, gouache & oil pastel) are provided free-flow for your session. Your entry fee includes a complimentary medium of your choice to work with—either one canvas (50x40cm) or a set of 5 watercolour papers (300gsm). Additional materials (canvas, canvas panel, watercolour paper, art mediums) needed can be purchased at our Mellow Mama Shop via PayNow, PayLah or Bank Transfer.

Can I bring my own art materials?

If I bring my own art materials, will there be a discount?

You are welcome to bring your own materials and can still use the art materials available at our studio. However, our prices are fixed and there will be no reduction in fees.

Can I request for extra materials?

Each session gives you unlimited access to these mediums: acrylic paint, watercolour, gouache & oil pastels). All other materials can be purchased at our Mellow Mama Shop via PayNow, PayLah or Bank Transfer.

What if I want to use more than one type of medium?

You're free to roam, buddy! However, to fully experience a medium, we suggest that you work with one medium at a time. You can then try using another or incorporating to mediums if time allows! But this is just our suggestion, you are ultimately the artist.

What if I have no art experience?

We embrace the presence of each participant and try to ensure that nobody will be lost in the process. We assure you not to worry if you do not have prior art experience. We have little booklets with tips on each medium so you don't feel so lost & alone.

Remember, Mellow Space is all about being free and creating at your own time and pace. Relax, unwind and have fun while you're at it!

Who is suitable to join Mellow Space sessions? What is the age limit?

For Mellow Space sessions, we require a minimum of 7 years and above to join the session due to the long duration of 2.5 hours which is not suitable for younger kids' attention span. For kids 12 years old and below, an accompanying guardian is required. If you have more than one child below 12 years old that is coming, at least one accompanying guardian is required. E.g. Jacob purchased a Mellow Craze session ($25) for his 8 year old daughter. Jacob will need to purchase another Mellow Craze session for an accompanying adult/guardian as his daughter is below 12 years old. Jacob will be paying a total of $50 for two Mellow Craze sessions for two persons. As getting into our studio requires a flight of stairs down, our studio is not wheelchair-bound friendly. For senior folks, we welcome you too! Please let us know if you have any underlying medical conditions that we should be aware of.

My friend wants to come and hang out while I paint. Can they come and not paint?

Sorry, only people who have reserved a slot are allowed as we have occupancy restrictions with COVID-19 safe management measures in place. If your friend would like to join you, persuade them to paint with you!

What if I'm late for the session?

No worries, you can head in as per usual. Your session will still end at the same time though, so try not to be late. Sorry!

What amenities are there?

Other than our painting tools/materials, we have amenities such as a WiFi, a mini-fridge stocked with beverages, and a water dispenser. We also have two bathrooms that is kept sparkling clean. Showering in our studio is not permitted.

Do you sell food in your premises?

No, but there are many great food options available around our neighbourhood!

Can I bring my own food to your premises?

No. As of 1 May 2021, consumption of food is no longer allowed in our premises until further notice. Drinking is allowed but masks have to be worn immediately when you are done. Do ensure that your mask covers both your nose and mouth when it is worn. We thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation in helping to keep Mellow Space a safe space for everyone.

Do I have to clean my area after I am done?

We disinfect the studio before and after every session. It would help us greatly if you could clear your area after you are finished. ☺

Are pets allowed on your premises?

Nope! Our house pet, Danny the Dinosaur, might scare your pets away.

Is there parking?

Yes, there is a multi-storey carpark in Textile Centre. On Weekdays and Saturdays, parking ranges from $2 - $2.50/hour depending on the time. On Sundays, parking is $2.50/per entry.

Is Mellow Space an art therapy session?

No, our sessions are aimed at fostering experimentation and exploration within participants. Although they could be calming and hopefully beneficial for our participants, they are not art therapy sessions. Art therapy sessions require qualified professionals to be carried out and at Artify Studio, we do not provide such services.

What are the available time slots for the Mellow Space sessions?

Mellow Craze (2.5 hours) For our Mellow Craze sessions, you may book for any time during our opening hours, from 10:00am—5:30pm. You may feel free to stay longer if you require more time to work on your masterpiece(s) by paying our hourly rate ($10). E.g. If you bought Mellow Craze ($25) and wish to stay for 2 more hours, you can pay an additional $20 to do so. Do note that the last available time slot for a Mellow Craze session would be 3:00pm - 5.30pm. Hourly extensions are not possible after 5:30pm. Mellow Mania (7.5 hours, 10:00am—5:30pm) Our slots for Mellow Mania sessions are only available at 10:00am as these are full day sessions which take up our entire opening hours. Hourly extensions are not possible. On some days, we may have workshops after Mellow Space closes and will require time to clean the studio and prepare for the workshops.

What does my entry fee entail?

If you like the mediums you are using (e.g. gouache or watercolour kits), or should you require more mediums to work on (e.g. canvas and canvas panels), you may purchase them from our Mellow Mama Shop in Mellow Space. If you require more time to complete you art work, you can choose to extend your session by paying our hourly rate ($10). E.g. If you bought Mellow Craze ($25) and wish to stay for 2 more hours, you can pay an additional $20 to do so. Mellow Mania (7.5 hours, $50) Your entry fee includes a complimentary medium of your choice to work with for in-studio use only—either one canvas (50x40cm) or a set of 5 watercolour papers (300gsm). To complete your masterpiece(s), the entry fee also gives participants free-flow access to these art mediums (acrylic, watercolour, gouache & oil pastel) during the session. With a longer time slot, you may have more time to work on more art pieces. Should you require more mediums to work on, e.g. canvas and canvas panels, you may purchase them at our Mellow Mama Shop. Do note that as Mellow Mania sessions are full day sessions (10:00am—5:30pm), they take up our entire opening hours. Hence, hourly extensions are not possible.

Are there limitations to what I can do?

You are free to explore and create but do take note that in the interest of taking care of our space the following are not permitted: - Splashing/splattering of paint - Spin art - Pour art If you are unsure, do check with us by contacting our studio phone via WhatsApp at +65 9011 1431. How do I extend my hours?

If you require more time, simply scan our PayLah/PayNow QR code to make payment before leaving and you're good to go! We trust that you will honour our systems set in place and thank you for supporting Mellow Space. Hourly extension rate: $10/hour

I do not want the complimentary canvas/watercolour paper. Can I opt for something else?

No, we do not allow changing of mediums or topping up to get a different medium. If you would like to use another medium (e.g. a bigger canvas), you will need to purchase it from our Mellow Mama Shop. Your entry fee includes a complimentary medium of your choice to work with, for in-studio use only— either one canvas (50x40cm) or a set of 5 watercolour papers (300gsm).

Do I have to wear my mask when I'm in Mellow Space?

Absolutely! Unless you are drinking, masks have to be worn at all times. Do ensure that your mask covers both your nose and mouth when it is worn. We thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation in helping to keep Mellow Space a safe space for everyone.

How do I make payment? What if I don't have PayLah/PayNow or can't bank transfer?

We have a payment guide in Mellow Space where you can either scan our PayLah/PayNow QR code or pay via bank transfer. If you do not have these options, reach out to us (90111431) and we'll help you out with alternative payment methods!

What if I only want to come for an hour? Can I just pay $10?

Sorry, but bookings are only available in blocks of 2.5 hours or for the whole day (7.5 hours). We do not offer hourly options unless you have booked for Mellow Craze and would like to extend your stay. Mellow Craze: 2.5 hours Mellow Mania: 7.5 hours (full day)

If I leave earlier, is there a discount? Can I come back another day and use my hours? Or can I share the hours with my friend(s)?

Our prices are fixed and there will be no reduction in fees if you leave earlier. All hours are valid for use only on the day that you have booked. Carrying forward of hours and sharing of hours with your friend(s) is not allowed. All prices stated are for one person only. E.g. Ashley booked a Mellow Mania session (7.5 hours) on 14 July for 10:00am to 5:30pm. He/she/they came at 11:00am and left at 4:00pm. Though he/she/they stayed for only five hours, he/she/they cannot come back at another time to utilise the remaining 2.5 hours. If Ashley would like to return, he/she/they will have to pay for another session. There will be no partial refunds for unutilised hours. Hours that are not used within the day of booking will be forfeited.

What materials are provided?

On top of a complimentary medium of your choice — one canvas or a set of 5-pc watercolour paper — the following mediums are provided free-flow for in-studio use only:
